Last year saw the riotous revue "Accidentally Maple Street". It was fast and funny, and the 550 people who saw it all went off big time. Afterwards we all sighed a collective "Phew", patted ourselves on the back for equalising ourselves through humour and heartedly concurred that the show was very timely because things in our sleepy little village couldn't get any worse. Well, were we wrong! 2004 was a mere ripple in our social political pool. 2005 was the tsunami! Our sleepy little village is not what it use to be. I blinked and suddenly everything had changed. It was suddenly in a village in which you are allowed block the main street but get booked for beeping your horn, a village in which the largest employer is the Qld Police Service, in which the local paper has more letters than a Welsh railway station! A village where big cheques must be marked "Non Negotiable" and a village whose new symbol is a evolutionary freak of nature! (A Platypus, not a developer). Obviously there's only one thing to do!
So ladies and gentlemen, we present to you, the 2005 revue - "Accidentally Bunya Street".
The show will be presented by SRT and directed by Simon Denver who will hold down two portfolio's in the show - Court Jester and High Executioner. He has stated recently that the show has two strategic aims. 1) Heal the Divide. 2) Divide the Heels
As with last years epic the show will stuffed with songs, sketches, humour as a series of sacred cows get led to the abattoirs of satire. The main difference is that this years show has two themes. Act One will look at the last few years of Maleny the sleepy village. Act Two will look at the next two years of Maleny the suburb
